BAC Celebrates Career Signing Day

The Ottawa County Business Advisory Council (BAC) proudly celebrated its annual Career Signing Day on May 13, 2025, honoring high school seniors of the Skilled Trades and Healthcare Careers Academies who committed to jobs with area employers or to furthering their education.

This year, 22 students have already secured positions with local companies, many of whom were recognized at the special signing ceremony. Modeled after athletic signing days, the event highlights students’ achievements and celebrates their commitment to building futures right here in Ottawa County.

Employers and student signings included:

  • PC Manufacturing — Paige Simms, Port Clinton High School
  • Griffing Flying Services — Connor Earnest, Port Clinton High School
  • Bowling Green State University — Kaitlin Kennedy, Port Clinton High School; Mattie Leubcke, Port Clinton High School
  • Witt & Gaines — Karson Lash, Oak Harbor High School
  • Loadmaster Trailers — Tyler Harris, Danbury High School
  • Otterbein SeniorLife — Makayla Peyton, Danbury High School; Sarah Gracemyer, Danbury High School
  • Chipmatic — Brody Ish, Woodmore High School
  • Genoa Retirement Village — Jordan Norwalk, Woodmore High School
  • Tiffin University — Aliya Ibarra, Oak Harbor High School
  • USG — Noah Knecht, Port Clinton High School; Jordan Wadell, Port Clinton High School
  • Erie Restoration — Izaiah Wilson, Woodmore High School
  • Kwest Group — Briar Rohrer, Port Clinton High School

Students signed letters of commitment alongside representatives from their future employers or schools, family members, educators, and community leaders. The event showcased the strong partnerships between local schools and area businesses and underscored Ottawa County’s dedication to building a skilled and ready workforce.
