November 4, 2026 (Columbus, Ohio) – Tiger Material Handling, Inc., a provider of industrial material handling equipment, engineering, and fabrication solutions, has announced a $2 million expansion project with the purchase of the former Gordon Lumber building located off State Route 51 in Genoa, Ohio. The 26,350-square-foot facility will support the company’s continued growth, with plans to double its current workforce to more than over 50 employees over the next several years. The investment marks a significant milestone in Tiger Material Handling’s commitment to expanding its operations on the west end of Ottawa County in Genoa.
As customer demand continues to increase, the new facility will allow Tiger Material Handling to expand its operations, increase inventory, and significantly enhance its fabrication capabilities. The company plans to renovate and customize the building to accommodate its growing operations, improve production efficiencies, and support the addition of new employees.

“We are looking forward to expanding our stocked products,” said Tyler Pietrowski, Regional Sales Manager of Tiger Material Handling. “More variety and quantity when it comes to pallet rack, guarding, and a whole lot more. Possibly more products that we haven’t found yet as well.”
Beyond expanding its product inventory, the new facility represents a significant investment in Tiger Material Handling’s fabrication operations. The additional space will allow the company to take on larger, more complex projects while improving turnaround times and increasing production capacity.
“As our company continues to grow, we’ve reached a point where our existing space can no longer keep up – we have a capacity shortage,” said Mike Pietrowski, President of Tiger Material Handling. “The new building will provide the space we need for continued growth and will also provide job security for existing employees and as well as for new employees.”

The Ottawa County Improvement Corporation (OCIC), Regional Growth Partnership (RGP), JobsOhio, and NAI Harmon Group have worked collaboratively to support Tiger Material Handling’s continued investment and growth. The expansion reflects the company’s confidence in the region’s business environment and skilled workforce.
“Tiger Material Handling is doubling down on Ohio – nearly doubling its workforce and expanding the engineering and fabrication capabilities that manufacturers and distributors across northwest Ohio count on every day,” said JobsOhio President and CEO J.P. Nauseef. “With close collaboration from RGP and OCIC, this family-owned business will have the space and the talent to grow its Ottawa County operations and strengthen Ohio’s advanced manufacturing and logistics base.”
“Seeing another family-owned business like Tiger Material Handling continue to invest and grow in Ottawa County is exactly the type of economic development we strive to support,” said Chris Singerling, Executive Director of the OCIC. “This expansion is a great example of what can be accomplished when local businesses and economic development partners work together toward a shared goal. Investments like this create a ripple effect throughout our local economy, supporting job creation, and opening the door for future growth.”
With expanded inventory, increased fabrication capacity, and the addition of 26 new jobs, Tiger Material Handling’s new Genoa facility will strengthen its ability to meet growing customer demand while reinforcing its long-term commitment to Ottawa County.
